Most gutters that do not have miters connecting the components are stronger. Gutters that have more cracks are more likely to leak. Because of the materials used, sectional gutters are less durable and more likely to break.
Some places use 5-inch seamless metal gutters, while 6-inch and 7-inch gutters are becoming more common. Industrial or commercial seamless aluminum gutters are available in even larger sizes. Different gutter diameters imply water capacity. For places with regular heavy rains or overflowing gutters, a 6″ or 7″ gutter system may be perfect.
Aside from climate, your roofline, surface area, and pitch will dictate whether you require a 5-inch, 6-inch, or 7-inch gutter system. For areas of your property that require extra capacity, changing gutter sizes within the same system may be cost-effective.
