Matthew’s background in a nutshell describes a fighter… Matthew spent 30 years in finance with over 20 of them as an active pit broker/trader on the floors of the commodity exchanges in NYC — he has a lot of energy.

Matthew also spent close to 10 years coaching his children in lacrosse and football which was a real passion of his. However, the kids have grown and are now in the hands of high school coaches. In Sept. 2017 he was told his company wanted to move all headcount to Montreal. As, a NJ father of 4, he decided to bow out of the relocation offer. Then two days later, his doctor told him he had stage 4 oral cancer.

I know it sounds crazy, but the diagnosis turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I spent the next several months getting healthy. With the help of the “magicians” at Memorial Sloane Kettering in NY, we beat it in 4 months and I have remained cancer-free to this day. None of it was easy, but I knew it was time to do even better for my family. That diagnosis helped me look into myself and see what is most important to me… FAMILY, FRIENDS, and providing a SERVICE that can benefit others. I left corporate finance in early 2019 to get started in franchise consulting (I like to call myself a franchise COACH) and haven’t looked back.

I enjoyed meeting new people and explaining opportunities that can be life-changing for their future. In South Florida, you really need the right size gutter to handle the rainwater… larger gutters will help manage the flow off of the tile or metal roofs that are common down here. How It All Began

In 1999 Ken Parsons had just left the teaching industry and started his own gutter contractor company under the name Waterfall Seamless Gutters. In 2002 Ken’s younger brother, Ryan Parsons, accepted a job on the truck with Ken after the Graphic Design company he was working for crashed. In 2006 the Brothers briefly changed their name to Water-flow Gutter Solutions before finally becoming “The Brothers that just do Gutters” in 2009. The name we all know and love came from a radio ad the Brothers ran just a couple years prior to the change. Everyone who heard it liked it so much they thought it was the company name so Ken and Ryan stopped fighting it and adopted the name. With the name change came a few title changes as well. We decided we no longer wanted to be salesman, presidents or owners but rather Solutionists©, which embodied what we represent to our clients. Ken Parsons was re-entitled Senior Solutionist©, and Ryan Parsons became Chief Solutionist©.

Being in the gutter contractor business for over 15 years was an effort of adaptation and determination. We have been able to be successful for so long because we made our main focus the customer. The Brothers that just do Gutters offer a wide variety of installations, cleaning and repairs in a small niche industry of seamless rain gutters and leaf guards.
