The Brothers that just go Gutters are delighted to be the winner of the 2013 Think Local First Award! Ken and Ryan Parsons want to thank Dutchess County and the Chamber of Commerce for their continued support. Both Ken and Ryan pride themselves on giving back to the community, especially Dutchess County, the birthplace of their business. “This county has helped build this business from a one man, one truck operation to a profitable business operating out of 4 states, and we couldn’t be more grateful” said Ken Parsons, Senior Solutionist© with The Brothers that just do Gutters.
The 4th Annual Headliners Awards were held on April 17th, 2013 at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. The Headliner Awards program was created by the Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce to recognize and celebrate outstanding companies and nonprofit organizations located in Dutchess County. Winners are chosen by a committee of Chamber members and saluted at their monthly Contact Breakfast.
These winners are among Hudson Valley‘s finest, and Ken and Ryan are honored to be considered one of them. Although not originally considered under the Headliners awards, the Think Local First award is a special award given to a business or organization in the community who displays exemplary skills in all 5 categories.
Charlie North, President and CEO of the Dutchess County Chamber of Regional Commerce, presented the Think Local First award. He said, “There’s no doubt that Ryan and Ken Parsons, owners of The Brothers that just do Gutters, have shown a strong commitment in the local community. The Brothers work with Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity in order to help literally build the Hudson Valley. Through their recent Internet marketing campaign “Lend A Like For Local Charities,” The Brothers were able to raise funds for The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, and will be providing support through career training seminars and other recreational activities. The Brothers that just do Gutters really get it – they have a thriving business with a strong record of customer service, and they give back to the community in which we all live and work.”
Other headliner recipients included Tim Dean of Marshall & Sterling Insurance for Leadership in Community and Organization, The Baptist Home at Brookmeade for Out-of-the-Box Innovator, Day Seckler for Green-Friendly Organization, The Jen Dunn Agency Inc. for Continued Growth in Current Economy, and ServiceMaster Restore for Customer Service. Both Ken and Ryan want to congratulate all the winners, and everyone who attended the event as well. It shows tremendous support for other local business and the community.
Special keynote speaker Thomas J. Madison, Jr., executive director of the New York State Thruway Authority, joined the chamber contact breakfast to discuss construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge. This is great for business in the Hudson Valley and many residents and chamber members feel this bridge will have a positive ripple effect in the community.
In the past, The Brothers that just do Gutters have been recognized for not only being distinguished leaders in the community, but for having exquisite client satisfaction and cutting edge business tactics. Aside from winning the Think Local First Award, The Brothers that just do Gutters are recipients of Remodeling Magazines Big 50 Award, Dutchess County Chamber of Regional Commerce 40 Under 40 Award, and the Guild Quality Award.
